Last night's I Want To Work For Diddy finale left me quite curious; not about Diddy nor what will happen to "Poprah" but...Who is Janelle Monae? I only knew her from the Idlewild Soundtrack - So, I did a little research; a couple of youtube videos & The Chase Suite later & here I am! Janelle not only has great vocal abilities but a mean swag[ger] as well! She is the perfect mix between Bjork, Lauryn Hill & Andre 3000! Currently signed to Bad Boy Records, Janelle released the Special Edition of the once independent release Metropolis: The Chase Suite back in August & plans to release a full length album early 2009; in the meantime, check out the video for the hit single, Many Moons, as well as a clip from that Bad Boy showcase [circa April 2008] in which Janelle performs the classic, Killing Me Softly!
