[RAPHAEL SAADIQ]

Raphael Saadiq, former member of Tony! Toni! Tone! && Lucy Pearl, has not only been helping with the new highly-anticipated Solange album but also working on one of his own. The Way I See It, Saadiq's new 1960 soul-driven project, was recorded using vintage guitars, drum kits, and microphones to decently represent the 60's vibe. Okayplayer.com describes the sound as what you get when "when you mix street corner doo-wop with a touch of Bill Withers’ melancholy romance and sprinkle in some of The Five Heartbeats harmony!" This project sounds dope already, && I haven't even heard any of the material. While we wait to hear more information about The Way I See It [first single, release date, etc.], watch this performance clip of Rahpael covering a few of the hit records that he wrote for other artists
[
D'Angelo, Bilal, Angie Stone && Total].
